Here, you'll find valuable information to support your journey with Mundo Profundo, ensuring a deeper understanding of our offerings and practices.
To initiate the ceremony application process, simply click the "Submit Application" button anywhere on our website. You be directed to fill out an application form. Once submitted, one of our ceremony facilitators will reach out to you within 72 hours to schedule a call of inquiry. This call ensures that all is in alignment for your participation in the ceremony.

At Mundo Profundo, we prioritize the well-being of our participants, and we take the responsibility of understanding one's medical history seriously. With this in mind, we have a dedicated health practitioner alongside our Elders who meticulously review each individual's case, ensuring thorough consideration if there are any uncertainties about whether the ceremony is suitable for you at this time. This process is never about discrimination; rather, it's about ensuring that you receive the utmost care and support to fully benefit from your experience with us. Your safety and holistic healing are our utmost priorities.
Below is a list of our most common medical questions and answers :
What if I have high blood pressure?
Ayahuasca can affect blood pressure, so we need to be very cautious. You must disclose your condition to us, even if your blood pressure is controlled by medication. Taking ayahuasca can result in a spike in your blood pressure resulting in serious medical conditions including stroke.
We will give you a reduced dosage of ayahuasca for your entire retreat. The elders believe that even the smallest amount of medicine can be of benefit.
You should be attending retreat for therapeutic and healing benefits. You may or may not experience “visions”, but this is not what brings the healing benefits. It is your responsibility as well to monitor your condition throughout the retreat, and be respectful of the dosage given to you by the elder.
What if I'm taking antidepressants?
It can be very dangerous to mix The Medicine with SSRI and other types of antidepressants. It can cause sometimes serious reactions up to stroke. On occasion, this class of drugs is also prescribed by doctors for other conditions, for example, seizures or pain treatment. If you are unsure about whether your medications are considered dangerous please contact us.

Can I participate in Ceremony if I am menstruating?
Yes, guidelines and preparation for ceremony during this sacred time will be shared upon registration.
Can I attend Ayahuasca Ceremonies while I am pregnant?
We do not serve The Medicine to women who are pregnant or are currently breastfeeding.
What if I use other plant medicines or drugs?
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drug or alcohol use during the retreat. Guests found using alcohol or drugs during the retreat will be asked to leave.
What about Marijuana?
According to Colombian elders, Marijuana and Ayahuasca are not “friends”. You should refrain from using marijuana for as long as possible before retreat to achieve the best results.
Prepare your mind, body, and spirit for an Ayahuasca ceremony by embracing traditional indigenous practices. This includes adhering to a purifying diet, engaging in meditation and prayer to focus the mind, and participating in rituals to cleanse and align the spirit.
Additionally, connecting with nature, practicing mindfulness, and fostering a sense of reverence for the sacredness of the ceremony are essential steps to prepare holistically for this transformative experience.
Once complete with the application process you will receive a "Preparation Guide" to use as you see fit and/or may resonate to further clarify the preparation process, which will also be discussed in your application inquiry call with a Mundo Profundo facilitator.
Accommodations at Mundo Profundo are deeply rooted in our connection with the Earth, providing a harmonious blend of comfort and immersion in nature. Our sacred land offers communal sleeping and dining spaces within our Maloka (healing space), ensuring a close bond with the land and fellow participants.
Additionally, we provide restrooms, outdoor showers, and the opportunity for revitalizing river bathing, allowing guests to fully embrace the natural surroundings.
Nourishing both body and spirit, our menu features fresh, locally-sourced food, vegetarian and vegan cuisine options, enhancing the holistic experience of healing and renewal.
Travel to Mundo Profundo is a transformative journey in itself, and it's important to note that travel costs are not included in the ceremony fees and are separate.
To begin your journey, you'll fly into Medellin, Colombia, where convenient airport transportation can be arranged for a nominal extra fee. Our team is committed to ensuring your arrival is seamless, allowing you to focus fully on the profound experiences that await you at Mundo Profundo.
Note, upon completing your application and deposit, you'll receive the exact location of our retreat, nestled within the serene landscapes of Colombia.
Our ceremony space is intentionally intimate, fostering a sacred circle for healing. To ensure personalized care and respect for each participant, we can accommodate 8-10 individuals at a time, unless specified otherwise.
This "limitation" allows us to provide the one-on-one attention necessary for profound healing experiences and honors our commitment to our partners in this journey.
At Mundo Profundo, we recognize the limited legal avenues for accessing sacred plant medicine as it relates to its legality. However, here in Colombia this sacred ally is legal.
